MBA learning is a constant, perpetual, dynamic process.

“The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.”

MBA knowledge is NEVER-ending ! There is so much to learn yet ! There is constant inflow of new information everyday. Enjoying this thoroughly, though.

Some quick thoughts:
  • Metrics are playing a huge role now - everything has to be measurable
  • Demonstration of work done, measurement of achievements means more than just general talk
  • Metrics have entered EVERY field of business. Even Marketing, which seemed to be a field run on emotions and charisma, is now heavily dependent on Metrics!
  • Leadership, which was thought to be dependent on charisma is now number dependent. It has been proven that charisma has nothing to do with success of CEOs
  • In one word, if you can not understand numbers, you CAN NOT be / become a good leader.
  • It is a pity that so many of our political leaders are numerically illiterate. It is not enough to be educated and hold a degree.
  • It is necessary for leaders of ALL kinds to generate,  research, understand, analyze, represent and communicate numbers !!!

Go Miley!

Posting a video of Miley Cyrus just to show support to her. Happened to read a negative comment about her in the Huffington Post and felt bad for her. Some paparazzi (stalking her, perhaps?) clicks a pic of her in a white T shirt and sells it to Huff Po. Prolly some d-bag editor writes some absolutely unwarranted shit about her just to make the post get hits and then, some frustrated rude reader from some town writes an insulting comment about the article on her not dressing properly. (Poor kid). Something like "I have no idea why she is so famous". Yes, freedom of speech is important. Buy not the freedom to hurt people.

Oh, people just soooo love to run others down. It makes them feel better themselves. Happens every where. Happens in the work place. Happens in school. Happens in the street. Everywhere. I wish the writer of that rude comment would try singing like her or would look at himself or herself in the mirror. People who work hard and try to provide value to society ought to be encouraged. It should be made illegal for people to hurt others' feelings.

Go Miley!

(P.S: On the other hand, on second thoughts, when it comes to marketing, I think it is an excellent strategy - to let people vent. Isn't there a saying that goes like - In show businesses, there is NO publicity called bad publicity - it is ALL good!. All the attention that you get is good. In fact, some harmless bad publicity is way better than no publicity, in show biz, eh?)
