Say NO to racism ---> Interesting FICTIONAL STORY about racism, doing the rounds on Facebook.

(Update: One of my readers, Charles, pointed out to me, that this is fictional. Thanks, Charles!)

A 50-something year old white woman arrived at her seat and saw that the passenger next to her was a black man. Visibly furious, she called the air hostess.

"What's the problem, madam?" the hostess asked her

"Can't you see?" the lady said - "I was given a seat next to a black man. I can't seat here next to him. You have to change my seat"

"Please, calm down, madam" - said the hostess. "Unfortunately, all the seats are occupied, but I'm still going to check if we have any."

The hostess left and returned some minutes later.

"Madam, as I told you, there isn't any empty seat in this class- economy class. But I spoke to the captain and he confirmed that there isn't any empty seats in the economy class. We only have seats in the first class."

And before the woman said anything, the hostess continued... "Look, it is unusual for our company to allow a passenger from the economy class change to the first class. However, given the circumstances, the commandant thinks that it would be a scandal to make a passenger travel sit next to an unpleasant person."

And turning to the black man, the hostess said: "Which means, Sir, if you would be so nice to pack your handbag, we have reserved you a seat in the first class..."

And all the passengers nearby, who were shocked to see the scene started applauding, some standing on their feet."

Do you have an honorary PhD degree that you can confer on me for awesomeness? :)

Here is a funny cartoon from the web... Can you please confer on me an honorary PhD on awesomeness ? :)

Hey MBAs, would you like a PhD with that? For here, or to go?...

There are PhDs that are attained in house, like a dine in meal. And there are PhDs to go. Like a take out meal. Heard of the joke "would you like fries with that?"

Here is MY joke to MBAs... Would you like a PhD with that? For here, or to go? :)))

UK offers fly in and fly out PhDs for people from all around the world. The good thing, however, is that it is LEGIT. They are real PhDs with real value. But they offer you the convenience of doing it in a shorter period, without actually being onsite all the time.

PhD from Glasgow / Edinburgh seems to be a trend for Canadian MBAs. Every MBA would love a PhD, eh?

There are a lot of Canadian MBAs who pursue PhD from UK. I am guessing that the PhDs from there are not only recognized in Canada, but also easier to get. Now, ask any MBA about PhD, and I am sure that every MBA would love to have a PhD. It is the next level of attainment of respectability. It is something that shall differentiate you from "that other guy with an MBA" or "that other gal with an MBA". Duh! It seems like everyone has an MBA these days and as if MBAs are dime a dozen, LOL.

Here are some useful links for now:

Now, would I like to have a PhD myself? Ya man !!! Why not? :) Just look at the video above. How cool it sounds to be a PhD student. It is the next best thing to Godliness. It is magical !!! Life offers you so many options. It is important to choose wisely. A PhD is certainly a wise investment for the future. One can go into Teaching in Business Schools or Research or get a Corporate job after PhD in Business...

Is it easy for an MBA to make a hundred thousand dollars a year ($100,000)? NO!!!

I remember asking one of my professors in class if it easy for new MBAs to make a hundred thousand dollars a year. And the answer was a NO ! Especially not in this economy.

It takes years for MBAs to develop the seniority (and not everyone gets there) to be able to make $100,000 a year. How ever, the students who are able to successfully transition into high paying sectors like Finance or Consulting, or start businesses, or are willing to relocate to places where thye pay is high (? Alberta) are perhaps able to reach that target more easily.

I am guessing that if you are persistent, you can always find a way to make the big bucks. However, strange enough, a lot of classmates I know do not want to chase big bucks alone. A lot of them value family time and free time as much as money.

Me, personally, for now, would not mind chasing the big bucks through ethical means. If I am working for myself, for my business, that is totally fair. If I am working for a company, I would want to prove my worth and contribute well enough to deserve a good pay package....

More on this later. Internships are closing in, and I shall post blogs about internships and jobs soon...

Cheers!
