Books for 1st term MBA global courses

There are notes on the Blackboard for every subject, but there are also books you need. The books prescribed for the courses so far have been the following:-
  • ACCOUNTING: Financial Accounting - a critical approach - by Friedlan (comes with Lyryx software)
  • MARKETING: Marketing, Canadian edition - by Dhruv Grewal, Michael Levy, Ajax Persaud, Shirley Lichi
  • STRATEGY:  (1) Creating competitive advantages (2nd canadian edition) McGraw Hill Ryerson & (2) Cases in Strategic Management - 9th edition - McGraw Hill Ryerson.
  • HUMAN RESOURCES: Notes on blackboard, mainly + Package of cases, available from the Ryerson book store.

  • REGULATION, GOVERNMENT AND SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT - Managing the Law: The Legal Aspects of Doing Business 3nd ed. (Toronto: Pearson Education, 2010) Corporate Social Responsibility – A Legal Analysis (Toronto: LexisNexis Canada, 2009) M. McInnes et al., M. Kerr et al.,

Plus I always take notes in class - every class! This is because the examples, anecdotes and info given by Profs are very valuable!
