Hooooo boy!
I recently emptied my store and reorganized all the clothes I had. I gave away the T-shirts and casual wear to the Salvation Army (Thrift store) and kept my business casual clothes with me, mostly.
Need to have a good number of business suits ready for the MBA. I do have a few dark and a few light suits. A good number of dress shirts & dress pants. Plus dress shoes. Plus neck ties, cuff links, tie pins. That should do the job. And yes, a decent watch that goes well with business wear.
I am all set for the MBA now :)
This blog documents my MBA student life at Ryerson University, Canada (2010-2012). It was an attempt to demystify the MBA experience, help understand MBA topics & encourage MBA wannabes. I have a Pre-MBA blog about B-School application process (and a few other blogs) as well. I used to blog actively in the past and interact with readers regularly, but life got very busy after my MBA. Good luck. Take care. Cheers! Gerry.

Student Facebook group for our batch.
We are the first batch of Ryerson TRSM to have a dedicated Facebook group at the start of the program. This is very important to network and communicate, invite for events etc. For example, there is Frosh Finale party on the 10th September, 2010. We TRSM guys are planning a student party too before the classes begin.
Online presence on Facebook is very important since it stimulates other potential candidates to take interest in TRSM. We need to have more energy and excitement about OUR OWN product before we attempt to sell it to others, eh? So Facebook now reflects how we are all energized and rearing to go!

Workshops on 1st September, 2010 at TRSM were great.
We had 2 amazing workshops today, for the part time students as well as the Full Time students.
(1) Resume & job search related workshop - by Mark Patterson & Wayne MacFarlene.
This covered topics related to proper way to writing resume, networking, job hunting, various available resources and so on. Lots of new info learnt during this 2 hour presentation. The energy and dedication of the 2 presentors was very touching. That's because they are working hard for OUR sake - the students sake, to see US succeed. Now, doesn't it feel so good when someone is doing something for YOU? You betcha!
(2) Business Communication skills and report writing skills related workshop - by Ken Grant & Dale Carl.
This 2 hour presentation covered topics about the proper way to communicate (written communication) while doing business. Plus, details about how to write reports - research report, consultation report, academic reports and so on.
There was also advise about Case Presentations. Ryerson's Ted Rogers School of Management is supposedly, a leader when it comes to Case Competitions.
