Some one in the Facebook group wanted to know what are the obstacles for grad students and what success means to them. This is what I posted in reply:
OBSTACLES:
* Funding
* Study work load
* Balancing academic & personal life
* Striving to meet high expectations and live up to the high achievements / standards set by peers. For immigrant students / international students:
* Cultural adjustment
* Adjustment to a new system of education etc.
What SUCCESS means:
* Better job & thus better life style
* Good networks
* Opportunity to meet smart people
* Opportunity for research / further specialization or further studies like a PhD. * And most of all, a feeling of self worth and personal accomplishment.
This blog documents my MBA student life at Ryerson University, Canada (2010-2012). It was an attempt to demystify the MBA experience, help understand MBA topics & encourage MBA wannabes. I have a Pre-MBA blog about B-School application process (and a few other blogs) as well. I used to blog actively in the past and interact with readers regularly, but life got very busy after my MBA. Good luck. Take care. Cheers! Gerry.
