A scientist is defined as "a person engaging in a systematic activity to acquire knowledge. A scientist is an individual who uses the scientific method. The person may be an expert in one or more areas of science."
Scientists perform research toward a more comprehensive understanding of nature, including physical, mathematical and social realms.
I wish the word "Business Scientist" was more popular. Of course, we have the terms "Business Research", "Business Analytics", "Business Intelligence", and "Business Science" - but not "Business Scientist" in popular usage.

One thing is for sure - Mathematics and computers will play a large role in businesses in the future. Ignore at your own peril. People who are not data-savvy and computer-savvy may have difficulty in the future. These are days when computers fly planes and surgeons with robotics can perform surgery from a different continent, and drone in Asia can be controlled from the desert iin North America real-time, and computers invest in stock markets skimming cents (High Frequency Trading) and dollars in multitude, and making money. These are the days when a computer and machine can solve the rubix cube in seconds (Rubix Cube Solver Robot). The bottom line - Business Scientists are the future - are you ready for the future?!

This blog documents my MBA student life at Ryerson University, Canada (2010-2012). It was an attempt to demystify the MBA experience, help understand MBA topics & encourage MBA wannabes. I have a Pre-MBA blog about B-School application process (and a few other blogs) as well. I used to blog actively in the past and interact with readers regularly, but life got very busy after my MBA. Good luck. Take care. Cheers! Gerry.
