The Haskayne 24 Hour Case Competition is a three-day event that will challenge students from leading MBA programs across Canada to use their creative and analytical skills to assess real problems and deliver real solutions. The second annual Haskayne 24 Hour Case Competition will be held at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary from March 8-11, 2012. Building on last year's success, this competition promises to become a lasting legacy of the Haskayne MBA Program.
The Haskyane 24 Hour Case Competition, presented by The Forzani Group Ltd., is a unique competition that brings together the pressure of business decision-making with the students’ developing skills in teamwork, analysis, communication, critical thinking, and quick "on-your-feet" action. Student teams will work around the clock (literally) to find solutions to real-life problems, and then present their ideas in an effective and clear manner to a panel of judges. Senior business executives from the Calgary Community serve as judges, using their unique backgrounds, experience and perspectives to critically assess the participants' presentations. Teams are judged on creativity, insight, substance and plausibility of implementation.
Competition prizes total $12,000.
The top team from each preliminary pool will advance to an afternoon final. Prize payouts for finalists are:
- 1st Place: $6,000
- 2nd Place: $3,000
- 3rd Place :$2,000
- 4th Place: $1,000
