It's election time. Put your thinking caps on!

 ( Cartoon source: Toronto Star).

Why is it important to have a good education to understand election campaigns? Why is it important to be well informed to form the right opinions? That is because you have to know what is going on in this world, and how it is going to affect you. The current election season in the US throws many curve balls everyday, and there are spin doctors trying to spin situations to suit their needs. It is all about election strategy. A smart strategy and making use of minute details can help win elections, whereas negligence will sink campaigns.

The cartoon above nicely depicts how thoughts and perceptions vary from person to person, either based on bias, or based on ignorance. To understand the election season gimmicks, what you need to know well:
  • Economics
  • Sociology
  • Current affairs
  • History
  • Geography
  • Psychology
  • Statistics
  • Math
  • Law
  • and so on (will add more when I have new thoughts :)
Election strategists have become hugely important in giving direction to election campaigns. If you are smart and good at something, people will come to you. So learn as much as you can, in life. Become a person of value, and people will come to you :)

In all, election season puts your brain to work, and it is good mental exercise for you that is not only interesting to read and watch, but also to be aware and act, for your future. Don't forget to vote in your elections. That is how you can make a difference :)

Cheers!
Gerry.
